About Dr. Miles:
Dr. Karen Miles is a child and adolescent psychiatrist with 12 years of experience. She is board certified in both General Psychiatry and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Dr. Miles has extensive experience in multiple practice environments and administrative positions. In 2015, she decided to return to doing what she loves full time. With this passion, she opened her own outpatient practice.
 
Dr. Miles received a Bachelor of Science degree from Jacksonville University in Jacksonville, Florida. She attended medical school at Florida State University College of Medicine and she completed General Psychiatry Residency training at University of North Carolina Hospitals in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Her Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship was done at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina.
 
For three years, Dr. Miles served as the Medical Director for Strategic Behavioral Center in Garner, North Carolina. There she provided direct clinical care and administrative oversight for pediatric and adolescent psychiatric residential treatment and acute psychiatric hospitalization. Dr. Miles also has administrative and clinical duties at a mental health agency in Raleigh, North Carolina for the last five years. She also performs post-traumatic stress disorder and traumatic brain injury evaluations for United States Military veterans. She has received specialized training in the treatment of obsessive compulsive disorder, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, and post-traumatic stress disorder. She is also trained to treat psychotic disorders, bipolar spectrum disorders, autism spectrum disorders, substance use disorders, depressive disorders, and anxiety disorders.
